Fredrick Winston Floyd
Fredrick Winston Floyd September 13, 2025 Fredrick Winston Floyd, of Rhoadesville, died September 13, 2025, at Dogwood Village of Orange. Fred was born on January 15, 1936, in Lynchburg, VA, and was the son of the late Howard Lee Floyd and Mabel Celeste Wilkerson Floyd. He is also predeceased by his wife Joyce Ann Campbell Floyd; one daughter, Katherine Floyd Woodcock and her husband Jimmy; one brother, Howard Lee Floyd Jr.; and one sister, Betty Floyd Finch.
Fred was a retired manager in Leggett/Belk stores for 48 years. He was a member of the Rapidan Foundation and President and Life Member of the Orange County Rescue Squad, as well as many other civic organizations.
Fred’s entire life was dedicated to his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He stayed very involved in every community in which he lived.
Fred is survived by two daughters, Marguerite Floyd McCord and husband Matthew of Rhoadesville, and Lisa Floyd Sparks and husband Edward of Orange; eight grandchildren James Bradley “Brad” Woodcock and wife Trisha, Frederick Ryan “Ryan” Woodcock and wife Shannon, Jessica Woodcock Smith, Mary Anne Sparks and husband Wayne, Katherine Sparks Rohrback and husband Andrew, Joyce McCord Clatterbuck and husband Bryan, Sara Sparks Cutone and husband James, and Campbell McCord Pederson and husband Ben; one brother William Bruce Floyd and wife Lainee; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents of Dogwood Village for their excellent care and the love he received.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00AM at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with interment following at Prospect Cemetery, 707 Prospect Road, at 2:30PM.
