Robert Wayne Lloyd

Robert Wayne Lloyd, 83, of Orange, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at UVA Medical Center.

Born on September 3, 192, Wayne was the son of the late Robin L. Lloyd and Virginia D. Nelson. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Gail Lloyd; his children, Robin A. Lloyd and Robert “Rob” W. Lloyd; his brother, Jeff Lloyd (Debbie); his stepmother, Anne Lloyd; and his stepsister, Regina Lloyd. He also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Robin L. Lloyd; his mother, Virginia D. Nelson; his stepfather, Douglas L. Nelson; his sister, Beverly R. Lloyd; and his daughter, Dena M. Lloyd.

To know Wayne was to love him. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone willing to chat. He loved sharing stories of his time in Florida and his pride and joy – his Corvette. If you were lucky, he might even offer you a ride in it!

Wayne will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace with our Heavenly Father.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Orange Church of Nazarene. The family with receive friends two hours prior to the service and invites everyone to join them afterwards for food and fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Orange Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 367, in Wayne's honor.

A private interment will be held at a later date. Preddy Funeral Home Orange Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
