William Jacob Hurt

William Jacob Hurt, 67 of Culpeper, Va. passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Culpeper Health and Rehab. He was born on December 30, 1958 to the late Belvin Jacob Hurt and Polly Ann Nicholson Hurt.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Kay Slemp Hurt, daughter, Heather Carness and husband Anthony of Stuarts Draft, Va.; son, Brady Hurt and wife Skyler; sisters, Delores Fincham and Jane Royston; grandchildren, Brayden James Carness, Audrey Elizabeth Carness, Bentley William, Lacy Hurt, and Joann Grace Hurt.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison. Rev. Jerry Slemp will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the funeral home.
