Bryce Alexander Bowman

July 17, 1998 - April 23, 2026

Bryce Alexander Bowman, 27, of Barboursville, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 23, after a lifelong battle with a rare progressive genetic disease called Ataxia Telangiectasia.

Born on July 17, 1998, Bryce was a ray of sunshine with his beaming smile and contagious laugh. His loving, thoughtful nature and his determination were both an inspiration as he touched many lives.

A 2016 graduate of William Monroe High School, Bryce especially enjoyed woodworking and horticulture. He was an active member of 4H, FFA, and the Virginia Junior Angus Association—a volunteer at Tractor Supply for many years. Bryce was happiest when helping others. At home, he loved doing word searches and playing with his Australian Shepherd, Ellie.

Bryce is survived by his parents, Evan and Sharon (Andy) Bowman; fraternal grandparents, Van and Betty Bowman; Aunt Cynthia and husband Scott Smith; and an endless number of family and friends who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Bryce's wonderful life will be held on Tuesday, April 28th, at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm, when the service begins. Burial will immediately follow at Westover United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ruckersville.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Piedmont to help them continue their services. Though only involved for 3 days, as God would have it, they made a difficult journey possible and provided the comfort that was a blessing. The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, techs, therapists, and general staff at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital for their thoughtful, compassionate care of Bryce during his recent illness.
