Jeffrey Scott Martz

Jeffrey Scott Martz, age 61, of Madison, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2026. Born on April 29, 1965, in Arlington, Virginia, Jeff was the beloved son of Larry and Ella Martz. He grew up in Madison, Virginia, and began a career in various occupations, including plumbing, truck driving, and construction, making him a true jack of all trades. Above all, Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, son-in-law, brother, and friend. He enjoyed fixing and building in his garage, listening to music, spending time with his family and friends, and was known for his humor, work ethic, resiliency, and love for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sherril Martz; his children, Nicole Rose and Scott Martz; daughter-in-law, Mackenzie McMullen; grandchildren, Kinsley Martz, Khalani Kiser, Grayson Rose and Makenzie Rose; siblings, Larry Martz, Linda Martz, Jimmy Martz and Greg Martz; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father Larry Martz; father-in-law, Frank Pilkerton; and mother-in-law, Connie Pilkerton. A Family Night will be held on July 24, 2026 from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm at Preddy’s Funeral Home in Madison, Virginia. A funeral service will follow on July 25, 2026 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Blue Ridge Catholic Church in Madison, Virginia. A reception will take place afterwards downstairs at the church. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the love, laughter, and memories Jeff leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who have the privilege of knowing and loving him.
