Betty Jean Lamb

Betty Jean Lamb, age 80, of Ruckersville, VA passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026. She was born on May 8, 1945 to loving parents, Jesse J (Sam) and Pearl Sholes. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Jesse Lamb; her grandson, Brandon Legg; and her siblings, Frances Snow (Conrad), Shirley Deane (Elbert) and Elmer (Boy Blue) Deane.

Betty is survived by her sister, Janet Deane; her children, Donna Legg (Rex), Bruce Lamb (Fran), and Cheryl Applegate; as well as countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other friends and family.

Betty’s biggest joy in this world was spending time with her family and friends, especially rocking her babies to sleep while singing her favorite hymns. She was a devout Christian who loved listening to Gospel music and reading her Bible. Betty will forever be remembered as a selfless and caring person who had the ability to light up any room.

Family and friends are invited to attend Betty’s funeral service on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 12 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison. Family visitation will begin one hour prior to service.
