Louis Roger Savarie

Louis Roger Savarie died Friday, August 25, 2023. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Nancy; two sons, Andrew and Philip; and six grandchildren, Chip, Ryan, Clayton, Logan, Bea and Lucy.

Roger was born in Providence, RI on May 18, 1934, and attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY. He was a very proud graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown Dental School, and later went on to teach at the dental school for many years while building his dental practice in the Washington, D.C. area. Later in his life, and following his retirement from dentistry, he moved to a beautiful farm in Earlysville, Va, which was the product of many years of hard work and planning. The farm, which he named Millrace Farm, was truly his “Happy Place”. More recently, he and Nancy decided to move into the Glenmore Community in Keswick, Va where they made many close and supportive friends. He will be remembered as a loving, kind, and gentle husband, father, and grandfather.

A Catholic Mass in celebration of his life will be held at 10 am on September 7, 2023, at The Church of the Incarnation and followed by a private burial at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Free Union, Va, which is very close to the farm that he loved so much.
