Virginia Agee Gray

Virginia Agee Gray departed this life at the age of 98, on Friday, October 20. 2023, at The English Meadows in Crozet VA.

She was born January 26, 1925, to Rev. Joseph and Pencie Agee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur Gray, seven brothers, Dennis, Joseph Jr., James, Moses, Elijah, Nelson and George, two sisters Anna Nelson and Ruth Powell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Phyllis Anderson, grandchildren Tiffany Ayres and Raymond Jones, great granddaughter, Lisa Ayres, sister Evelyn Jones (Willis), sister-in-law Lunnie Agee and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Virginia was an active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, until she was unable to serve.

She held many duties in the church including Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and Deaconess. She also served her community as Girl Scout Leader, member of Scottsville Volunteer Rescue Squad Women's Auxiliary, Deborah Court #20 and Eastern Star No. 55.

Virginia will be remembered for her love of flowers, trying different recipes, speaking her mind in a positive way and always having a joke or story to tell especially about family members.
