Carolyn Lee (Caul) Thomas

Carolyn Lee (Caul) Thomas, 81, departed this life peacefully on January 1, 2024 in Hospice Care.

Carolyn was born on December 23, 1942 at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, a daughter of the late George Ernest Caul Sr and L. Alene Clements Caul.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Julian A. Thomas and her brother George E. Caul Jr. (Butch).

Carolyn is survived by her sister Patricia J. Caul Swanson (Daniel W. Swanson Sr), nephew Daniel W. Swanson Jr. (Missy Vaclavicek) and niece Janet S. Egertson (John Egertson), two great nieces McKenzie Marshall (Jacob) and Ashley Egertson, two great nephews Daniel W. Swanson III and Nicholas Swanson, two aunts Dorothy Napier and Sadie Hunt, Step-Daughter Barbara Shifflett and four step-grandchildren Sonny Shifflett Jr, Sean Hayslett, Laura Haslett and Devy Shifflett.

She also leaves her two fur babies Miss Kitty and SweetPea which she loved dearly as well as special friends and neighbors, Gary and Suzan Roberts and Jannie Martin and good friend Ann Malaga and many friends she has made over the years. She will be missed.

A graveside service will be held at Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber, VA on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made in her name to the Fluvanna County SPCA or Hospice of the Piedmont.
