Albert Allen Raines

Another soldier has gone to heaven to try out his wings. Albert Allen Raines went to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully at his home, surrounded by his wife, Betty. Albert was born on September 11, 1933, in Greene County, to the late Doffie and Viola Raines.

He is preceded in death by his son, Wayne Allen Raines, his brothers, Thomas, Clyde, Charles and William, and one sister, Dorothy Madison.

Albert is survived by his wife Betty Raines of 42 years and by a very special and loving goddaughter, Taylor Gibson; his daughters Audrey Dimarco and Karen Eppard; and one son, Dale Raines. He is also survived by his brothers Nelson, Richard (Barbara), Randolph (Joyce), Warren (Paula), Ronnie (Karen), sister Myrtle Garrison, and sister-in-laws Libby, Shirley and Fay Raines, along with numerous nieces, cousins, grandkids and great-grandchildren.

Albert was a hardworking man and believed everything should be done right or not at all. At age 18, he went to work driving a tractor trailer and he loved it. Later in life, he worked at Acme Visible Records for 32 years. He enjoyed helping people and making birdhouses, but most of all he loved his Lord and Savior.

We suggest that memorial donations to celebrate Albert's life be sent to Southside Church of God at 1807 Avon St. Charlottesville, VA 22902.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm - 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Southside Church of God. A celebration of Albert's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Southside Church of God. Interment will immediately follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail Charlottesville, VA 22911.
