Alice Dyer Woodward

Alice Dyer Woodward, 88 of Madison, Va., passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Autumn Care of Madison, Va. She was born on November 25, 1935 to the late Sylvester Dyer and Hattie Lee Brown Broyles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lee Woodward; brothers, Archie, Floyd Dyer, Elmer Dyer, and Charles Dyer; sister, Margaret.

Alice retired after many years of working at Wrangler in Madison and Autumn of Care of Madison.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Lee Romine and husband Don; son, Derek Russell Woodward and wife Stacie; brother, Carl Broyles; sisters, Janie Whidby, Linda Bennett, Vicki Fincham; grandchildren, Amy West and husband Aaron and Myles Romine; great-grandchildren, Melissa West, Darren Kilby-Woodward, Jadah Crenshaw and husband Mitchell, Alyce Kilby-Woodward, and Lyric Woodward and fiancé Logan Phelps; great-great-grandchild, Ava Lee Crenshaw.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison. Va. Pastor Jeff Shifflett will be officiating. Interment will be in Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, Va. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
