Alice Mae Bowman, 82 of Brightwood, Va. passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at The Laurels in Charlottesville, Va. She was born on October 17, 1942 to the late Archie Lee Rutherford and Lotis Hettie Jenkins Fincham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Ralph Bowman; brothers, Lee Rutherford, John Rutherford, and Eugene Rutherford. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Johnson and husband Michael; brother, Ronnie Rutherford and wife Tammie; sisters, Ann Carpenter and husband Montie, Emma Moore and husband Wayne, Mary Wood and husband Bob; grandchildren, Heather Smith, Cory May, Alyssa Johnson, Haley Johnson; great-grandchildren, Darius Carpenter, Briyana Simpson, Kylie May, Aleeyah May, Landon May, Torah Williams, Zebulan Williams and Shai Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Rev. James Boyette officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper, Va. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
