Sallie June Alley

Sallie June Alley, 92 of Louisa, died Thursday August 3, 2023 at her residence. Born February 14, 1931 in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Leonard A. Mathena and Carrie L. Riggins Mathena. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Alley, two sons, John Jeffrey Alley, Robert David Alley, two brothers, James Mathena, Bob Mathena and a sister, Fannie Jane Johnson. Mrs. Alley loved playing games, including bingo, card games and slot machines. Above all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Lee Fisher and husband Jerry of Waynesboro, Linda Irene Alley of Gordonsville, Cathy Ellen Wolfrey of Gordonsville, Mary Susan Foster of Gordonsville, Janet Sacra of Gordonsville, her sons, William Henry Alley, Jr. and wife Gail of Unionville, Kenneth Edward Alley and wife Judy of Louisa, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 9, 2023 at Preddy Funeral home in Gordonsville with interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Chaplin Jim Blackwell will officiate.
