Asa Joseph Harris

Asa Joseph Harris, 57, of Harrisonburg, VA, passed away on August 2nd, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Asa was born on June 6th, 1966, to Harry Joseph Asa Harris and Cora Frances (Baldwin) Harris, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph Jerry Baldwin and Verlie Elizabeth Baldwin of Reva, VA; and paternal grandparents, Joseph Asa Harris and Mary (Westfall) Harris. Asa is survived by his former wife and friend, Beverly Harris, of Harrisonburg, VA; two stepsons, Adam Moyer and wife Grace of Lexington, VA, and Jason Moyer of Staunton, VA; and a brother, Aaron Moyer, of Ruckersville, VA.

After attending high school in Culpeper, VA, Asa continued to work on the family farm in Reva, VA, which he dearly loved. Asa spent most of his leisure time in pursuit of hunting in the woods, and fishing along the rivers and lakes in Virginia. He was an avid marksman and was quick to share this passion with family and friends.

After moving to Madison County, VA, Asa worked at Plow and Hearth, the Madison County Public Schools in the Facilities and Maintenance Department, and for the Madison County Parks and Recreation as a Facilities Maintenance Technician. He also enjoyed meeting numerous community members while working at the Orange-Madison Cooperative (now known as EverGRO) as a warehouse associate. Asa moved to Harrisonburg, VA, where he worked at Bowman-Andros Products, NA, in Mount Jackson, VA.
