Barbara Ann Eubanks, 62, of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this life peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was one of eight children born to the late Sterling Edward Rawlings and Verdell Anna Jackson Lewis.
Barbara was born on May 2, 1961, in Charlottesville, VA. She was employed by Public Partnership as a caregiver for many years and was also a daycare provider. She attended the Charlottesville City School System.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Verdell Anna Jackson Lewis; father, Sterling Edward Rawlings; one sister, Peggy Lee Rawlings; and one brother, Michael Edward Rawlings.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Harry Lee Eubanks of Schuyler, Virginia; a loving and devoted daughter, Nakesha (George) White of Charlottesville, Virginia; one devoted grandson, Rashadi Wearing, of Charlottesville, Virginia; three step children, Harry and Eugene Roberts, and Deangelo Brown; one step grandson, Raphael Gibbons; one step granddaughter, Alexis White; three sisters, Hattie Rawlings, Ruth Rawlings, and Darlene (George Reed) Johnson; two brothers, Sterling Edward Rawlings and Anthony Rawlings all of Charlottesville, Virginia; two brothers-in-law, Nathaniel and Kenneth Eubanks, both of Schuyler, Virginia; two special friends, Brenda Johnson and the late Barbara Moon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, but most of all, she was a friend to every life she touched. She was loved by many and her smile and laughter will always be a part of our lives. Her love and devotion for family and friends will be remembered by us all.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 9 2023, at Preddy’s Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Gordonsville, VA with interment to immediately follow at Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family wishes to invite you to a repast immediately following the interment at Royalty Eats Restaurant, 820 Cherry Avenue, Charlottesville, VA.
