Barbara Schriver Guertin
Barbara Schriver Guertin, 75, of Charlottesville, Virginia, peacefully passed away on November 7, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at Our Lady of Peace in Charlottesville.
Barbara was born March 6, 1948, in Farmingdale, New York. She was the daughter of the late Stanley Schriver and late Minnie Mendlesohn. She grew up and graduated high school in Farmingdale. Later she made her home in Charlottesville, Va., where she loved interacting with the community as a banking manager for 30 years, volunteering at her church, and as a greeter at the Senior Center at Belvedere.
She is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Ronald Jerome Guertin; sister-in-law, Sunny Lee (Levett) Schriver; and niece, Michelle Schriver.
Barbara leaves behind three sons, Timothy (Tim) Guertin and his wife, Kelly Guertinm, of Ruckersville Va.; Christopher (Chris) Guertin of Charlottesville, Va.; and George Sparacio and his wife, Kimberly Sparacio, of Stoney Brook, N.Y.; her five cherished grandchildren, Timothy (Timmy) Guertin, II, of Ruckersville; Clementine (Niney) Gray-Guertin of Charlottesville; Robert Sparacio of Bloomsburg, Penn.; Matthew Sparacio of Knoxville, Tenn.; and Julianna Sparacio of Stoney Brook, N.Y. Barbara also leaves behind her brother, Donald Shriver of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and niece Heather Schriver Urbanik of Mission Viejo, Calif.
Barbara was devoted to her family and friends above all else; once you met her you were family. Anybody that was around Barbara knew her loving nature for animals, and her fondness of movies, music and cooking.
We would like to thank Delores Rocha, Mary Kirby and Tina Arrigo for loving Barbara unconditionally and always being there for her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday November 11, 2023 at Victory Church, 8782 Seminole Trail, Ruckersville VA 22968.
