Beverly Elizabeth Wagner

June 25, 1935 - February 26, 2024

Beverly Elizabeth Via Wagner, 88, died peacefully on February 26, 2024. She was born June 25, 1935, in Albemarle County, Virginia, to the late Walter Samuel Via and Lottie Sandridge Via. She married Ralph Arnold Wagner, her husband of 63 years, in January of 1955, and moved to Waynesboro, where they raised their four children. She was a member of the last graduating class of Crozet High School, and attended Madison College. She was an active member of First Baptist Waynesboro, serving on the kitchen committee, and enjoyed working in the church library.

Bev spent her adult life raising her four children, and loving and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved people, and her work in retail afforded her many opportunities to get to know and interact with a great number of people. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wagner; brother, Allen Via; and her sisters, Anne Wayland and Nancy Shipp.  

She is survived by her son, Mike (Lynn) Wagner; daughters, Lynn Fields, Sheryl (Kenny) Hall, and Lisa (Larry) Thompson; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, W. Dabney Via; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Waynesboro, 301 S Wayne Avenue, officiated by the Rev. Justin Moser, and the Rev. Kristen Koger. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall.
