With a heavy heart, we regretfully announce the passing of Beverly Powell Lamb. Beverly (also known as B. or B.B.) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world with grace and peace on February 2, 2024 at age 70.
She was born to Walker Mallory and Gladys Lucille Powell on June 24, 1953 in Charlottesville, VA. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and her sister, Barbara Paffen. She is survived by husband of 39 years, Davis Lamb, brother, Walker Powell and wife Tracey of Columbus, Ohio and sister, Brenda Hawkins of Bumpass, VA. Brother-in-laws include John Paffen, Carroll Lamb and wife, Sharon, Johnny Lamb and wife Janice, Bill Lamb and wife Janice (deceased), Steve Lamb, and Charles Lamb and wife, Wanda. Her children are son, Troy Lamb and wife Renee of Louisa, VA, daughter, Christine Hodges and husband Jim of Covington, VA and daughter Mallory Lamb and husband Levi Cheney of Ruckersville, VA. She had eight grandchildren, Cora Hodges, Amelia “Daisy” Hodges, Paisley Shifflett, James Hodges, Gunner Shifflett, Aubrey Cheney, Allie Cheney, and Arley Cheney. Additionally, her nieces and nephews, Tommy Tompkins, Shaun Hawkins, Kelley Hawkins, Jonathan Powell, and Zachary Powell as well as numerous family members.
Beverly graduated from UVA with a degree in Accounting. She spent her career working at UVA Caruthers, Hantzmon and Wiebel, UVA Alumni Hall, Blue Moon Fund, and UVA Credit Union as an accountant and auditor.
Beverly was devoted to her family and her church. Beverly enjoyed reading; singing in the Greene County Singers, spending time with her grandchildren; and her dog, Gracie. She was skilled in playing the piano and a member of Stanardsville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and served as treasurer for 13 years.
The family appreciates all the love and support we have received. We will cherish all the wonderful memories of Beverly as she will live on in our hearts, and souls forever. She was a gentle, strong, and courageous woman that was taken too soon from her loved ones.
The family will receive family and friends at Preddy’s Funeral Home in Madison on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Preddy’s Funeral Home in Madison on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery in White Hall.
