Brenda Anne Wood Drouin

Brenda Anne (Wood) Drouin, 75 of Madison, VA, passed away on May 11, 2024, at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born November 12, 1948, to the late Antonia (Anne) Collins and Samuel Edward Wood. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Young (1951), Thomas Wood (2007) and Steve Wood (2013).

Brenda is survived by her husband Jocelyn (Joe) Drouin; siblings John Young (Sandy), Joseph Young (Cheryl), Samuel Wood, Anthony Wood (Ann Marie); sister-in-law Gaetane Salvo (Benny), Helene Drouin; brother-in-law Gaston Drouin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda started as a switchboard operator for Virginia National Bank in the early 1970s, and worked for the Navy in Arlington and at the Pentagon until she and Joe moved to California in 1980. Brenda took a job with the Federal government until she decided to go back to school to get her degree in social work. After receiving her BS and MS, she became an LCSW, where she worked for San Bernadino County as a social worker until she and Joe moved back to VA in 2012.

Brenda was a voracious reader, especially the Bible. She loved the pets that she and Joe raised throughout their lives together.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 21 at Preddy Funeral Home in Orange. Family will receive friends one hour before the service with interment to follow at Culpeper National Cemetery. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange will be assisting the family with arrangements.
