Brenda Sue Lotts

Brenda Sue Lotts, 77, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.  Born July 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late McDowell David Lotts and Clara Withers Lotts of Brownsburg, Virginia.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Lotts; sister, Juanita Landes; and special companion, James “Frank” Fitzgerald.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Nancy Chandler and husband, Butch; three grandchildren, Lindsay Jarrell and boyfriend, William Vint, James Isbell, and Nolen “Aiden” Chandler; four great grandchildren, Brooklyn Smith, Layla Jarrell, Will Vint, and Bently Vint; three sisters, Judy Wolf, Betty Jo Allman, and Mary “Ginny” Shaffer; a sister-in-law, Mary Lotts; a brother-in-law, Danny Landes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda loved her Virginia Tech Hokies and watching them play football or basketball.  She loved word search books and putting puzzles together.  She was a fan of the show, Bonanza, and was given the nickname “Hoss” by her dad and nephew.  They were the only two people to call her by that name. Brenda’s family and friends were her greatest joy.  

The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Legacy Hospice and Staunton Post Acute and Rehab.  Special recognition to the nursing staff of the 2 New/West Unit for their care and comfort given to Brenda while she was a resident there.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 in the chapel of McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro, VA.  Rev. Loren Mitchell will be officiating.  Burial will be private.
