Carolyn Marie Ables

Carolyn Ables, 75, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, at her Ruckersville, Virginia home. She was born on February 10, 1949 to the late Ruby and Dan Shifflett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Earl Ables, mother: Ruby Shifflett, father: Dan Shifflett, two sisters: Gloria Jean Breeden and Diane Shifflett, a brother: Gregory Shifflett and a granddaughter, Rachel Ables.

She was an amazing person who loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandbabies. She enjoyed family get-togethers and had a passion for reading romance novels.

She is survived by a sister, Barbara Shifflett; brother, Donnie Shifflett; daughter, Rhonda Ables, ;son, Michael Ables; grandson, Brandon Eacho; granddaughter, Sarah Ables and her husband, John Harper; several great grandchildren, Naheim, Brandon Jr., Jaylon, Jeniah and Josiah, a very special niece, Brittany Shifflett Brock and her children, Ashianna, Na’Kyra and Kamden.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Piedmont nurses, the Greene County Rescue Squad members and all the nurses and physicians at University of Virginia Hospital, who took great care of her.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Preddy’s Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, Virginia. Family and friends are welcome.
