Carroll Lee Carter February 28, 2025 Carroll Lee Carter, 83. departed this life peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at UVA Culpeper Hospital leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Carroll, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, and brother, was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family.
Carroll Lee was born on April 11, 1941, to the late Peachie and Barney Carter
He spent over 50 years as a skilled mechanic, a profession he took great pride in.
His hands not only built and repaired, but also provided for and supported those he loved. Carroll leaves behind his beloved wife Carolynn Rowe Carter.
He also leaves behind his beloved children:
Richard "Dickie" Carter (Sheila) of Rapidan, Ann Rowe of Lousia,
Betty Collins (late husband Dennis) of Culpeper, Tina Rowe, Ricky Rowe,
and Clyde Rowe (Diana) of Lousia. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Junior, brother Douglas (Lessie), and sister Arlene Frye (Acy)
He is also survived by his siblings Sallie Braxton (Warren), Alice Robinson (Glen),
Thelma Turner (Glenn), Simuel Washington (Ann), Strother Washingon (Juanita).
Carroll also leaves behind 13 cherished grandchildren and a multitude of
great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will forever hold his memory close. Carroll’s life was one of hard work, love, and resilience, and his presence will
be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Rev. Timothy Minor officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Jeffersonton, Va. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 11:00 am to 12:00 at the funeral home.
