Charlie Herbert Morton

Charlie Herbert Morton Sr., 75, of Spotswood Trail, Barboursville died on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at his residence. He was born on September 11, 1948 in Madison and was the son of the late Wilbert Williams and Jessie Morton Brooks. He was an Army Veteran and retired bricklayer for Roger’s Construction.

Charlie is survived by his wife Clara Collier Morton of Barboursville; a daughter Adrian Smith of Charlottesville; a son Charlie H. Morton Jr. and wife Sue of Stanardsville; two step sons Bruce Collier of Ruckersville and Thomas Mouberry and wife Debbie of Orange; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister Lillian Phillips of Washington, D. C.; and two brothers David Williams and wife Paulette of Rochelle, and Charles Brooks and wife Martha of Winchester.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange with Pastor Phillip Knight officiating. Interment will be held in the Mt. Paran United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ruckersville with military honors. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
