Christian Lawson Rose

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christian Lawson Rose, age 81, of Barboursville, Va., on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on December 3, 1942, in Greene County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lawson and Mamie Samuels Lawson. Christian was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Rose; three brothers, Malcom Lawson, Ronnie Lawson, and Charles Lawson; one sister, Carolyn Stotler.

Christian was a devoted mother, wife, and friend. She was always there when anyone needed her, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was always ready for a trip to Gatlinburg or a ride in the mountain.

She is survived by two sons, Jeff Rose (wife Tammy) of Barboursville, Va., and Shawn Rose of Barboursville, Va.; three grandchildren, Kristen Perez (husband Jamie), Jenna Marshall (husband Chase), and Gus Rose; four great grandchildren, Hayley Brown, Taylor Perez, Aiden and Grayson Marshall, two brothers, Bill Lawson, and George Lawson; three sisters, Patsy Jacobs, Sandra Watson, and Diane Wolfrey.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the loving care and support provided by Hospice of the Piedmont.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville. A visitation for friends and family to gather will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Interment will be held at Rose Cemetery, 4330 Ridge Road, Barboursville, VA 22923. Pastor Eddie Deane will be officiating.
