Claudette W. Holland
Claudette W. Holland, 83, of Goochland, Virgina, transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Born in Louisa County, March 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late G. Ellen Washington White and the late J. Clyde White.
Claudette knew and loved the Lord and received Him as her personal savior at a young age. She later joined the Union Grove Baptist Church (UGBC) in Keswick and participated in church functions and worship, particularly the Senior Center. Claudette was quiet and reserved; however, it was at the UGBC Senior Center that she actively engaged and fellowshipped with her sisters in Christ. They enjoyed Claudette and she thoroughly enjoyed them.
Her hobbies included fishing, especially with her sons and her sisters, cooking and listening to gospel music. In fact, members of her church choir sang gospel music to her in the hospital the day before she passed.
Claudette loved her family and they loved her. Claudette was preceded in death by many loving family members, including husband; Roy Holland; daughter, Loretta H. Freeman; brothers; Randolph, Clarence, Wayne, Demetris, and Alex White; and sisters; Carolyn W. Childs and Joyce W. Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, four sons, Glen Holland (Carolyn), of Goochland, Lawrence Holland (Gale) of Charlottesville, Larry Holland and Mark Holland (Nancy), both, of Goochland; one daughter, Glenda Smith (Steve) of Chesterfield County; four sisters, Lucille Lebough (Michael), of Goochland, Charlotte White, of Buckingham, Arnette White, of Henrico, and Lisa White-Murrill (Anthony), of King George; two brothers, G. Wesley White, of Richmond and Garry White, of Elkins, WV; eleven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A family night will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville, VA. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Union Grove Baptist Church in Keswick, VA. The graveside service will follow at the church cemetery.
