Concetta "Connie" Madeline Scopelliti

September 7, 1942 - January 27, 2024

Concetta "Connie" Madeline Scopelliti of Charlottesville, VA passed away on January 27, 2024. She was surrounded by her husband of 58 years, Frank Scopelliti Sr, and her family. Connie was born in New York, to the late Dominick and Clara Guadagno on September 7, 1942. She married Francis Scopelliti, Sr in 1965 and together they relocated to Virginia in 1970 to raise their family.

Connie is survived by her adoring husband Francis "Frank" Scopelliti, Sr., her three children; Clara Hall and spouse Jim, Francis "Frankie" Scopeliiti, Jr and spouse Jennifer, and Ray Scopelliti and spouse Jessica. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, the absolute lights of her life; Vincent, Madeline, Savannah, Rachel, Makenna, Caroline, Ryan, Ethan, Owen, and Oliver. Connie was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Scopelliti and her sister, Maria Board.

Connie worked in retail when her children were young and later transitioned to working as a Special Education Aide for Albemarle County Public schools. After her retirement she returned to the school system as a substitute teacher. Her work brought her so much joy and she loved to regale her family with the antics of the children and teaching tales. She adored her co-workers, and many became lifelong friends.

To say Connie loved her family fiercely is understatement. She was the heartbeat of the family and was there for each of them in any way needed, any time, any place. She was always optimistic and had a smile that lit up the room. Connie never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. Her zest for life was contagious and she brought joy to everyone lucky enough to know her. Regardless of the situation Connie always focused on “making memories” with her family and we are so incredibly thankful for all the beautiful memories we have with her.

The family will hold a visitation at Hill and Wood 5-7 pm on Thursday February 1, 2024. A graveside service will be held 4 pm on Friday February 2, 2024 at Holly Memorial Gardens.
