Delmar Eugene Dodson

Delmar Eugene Dodson 85 of Brightwood passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, in UVA Hospital. He was born March 5, 1939 in Madison County and was the son of the late William Henry Dodson and Ruth Francis Sisk Dodson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth D. Weakley and brothers, James, Jake and Bernard Dodson.

Delmar was a Member and Deacon of Thoroughfare Bible Church for over 40 years. He was a former logger, retired from the Orange Madison Cooperative and was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann Jackson Dodson; a daughter, Connie D. Campbell and husband Charles, son Frederick E. Dodson and wife Lisa all of Brightwood; brother, Clifford H. Dodson and wife Hazel of Verona, VA; two sisters-in-law, Gail Dodson of Brightwood and Nancy Dodson of Leon; five grandchildren, Simeon Campbell, Rachel Jacobs and husband Jeremy, Lily Smith and husband Kyle, Daniel Campbell and Emily Dodson; and four great-grandchildren, Gage Campbell, Gunner Kerns, Granger Campbell and Gwyneth Jacobs.

A Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 18, 2024, at Thoroughfare Bible Church with interment in the church cemetery conducted by Pastor Neal Warner. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm one hour before the service on Monday.
