Don Michael Pullen
The family of Don Michael Pullen is sad to announce that he has passed on but is joyful to announce that he has gone to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and his love for God and others. He succomed to many illnesses due to agent orange, which he contacted during his three tours in Viet Nam. He was very proud to have served his country as a United States Navy Seabee for twenty-one years. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Gloria Cromer Pullen. He is also survived by his supportive and loving sons, Michael Elwood Pullen and wife Crystal of Nashville, TN. and Matthew Jon Pullen and life partner Dawn Nicholson of Madison VA. He also leaves behind four adored grandchildren: Brianna Pullen, Drake Liles, Everett Pullen, Kedrick Liles-Pullen and stepson Nathaniel Liles, all of Nashville, TN.
Don comes from a large and close knit family. He is survived by brothers Frank Pullen (Mary Lou) of Arvonia, VA, Ron Pullen (Jan) of Tuscon, AZ, Gordon Pullen of Macedonia, and Larry Pullen (Reed) of Barboursville, VA. He is also survived by a sister Brenda Yoder (Ray) of Buckingham VA. His aunt Barbara Litten survives. He was preceded in death by his brother Gregory Pullen, parents Elwood and Flossie Pullen, and Everett and Margaret Cromer, his father and mother-in-law. He leaves behind many cousins and friends.
Don was loved by many people. He was humerous, a jokester, generous, and kind. He loved to fish, eat out, shop and be with family and friends. But most of all he loved God more and more as he got older. He was a member and former board member of Orange Assembley of God.
He will be missed by all. There will be a time to greet the family at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 7, 2023 at Orange Assembley of God, Orange, VA. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 Noon. Military honors will be presented at the National Cemetery in Culpeper, Va. following the memorial service.
