Donald Earl Wright

Donald Earl Wright of Gordonsville, Va., affectionately known as Earl or Papa, passed away peacefully on March 21st, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Earl was born on February 17, 1966, to the late Francis Peyton and Raymond Wright Jr. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his mother’s husband and stepfather, Wayne Peyton; his uncle, Ricky Wright; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa Wright; her parents, Romulus Gilmore Seay and his wife Dorothy, and Virginia Ruth Seay; his daughter, Ashley Garnette, her husband Kendall, and her children, Shane, Alexis, Leland, and Lillian; his step-son, Jason Harris; his step-mother, Diane Wright; his paternal brother, Eric Wright, his wife Amber, and their daughter and son; his paternal sister Cathy Campbell, her husband Ryan and their two daughters; his paternal sister, Lindsay Wright; his maternal brother, David Peyton, and his daughters; and his maternal uncle, James Kemper Tomlin, his wife Terry and their two sons and daughter. Earl also leaves behind to mourn his memory, his best friend, Walter Rodgers and his wife Tammy; Dave and Debbie Ficham, who had become like another set of parents; as well as many other friends and family.The family would like to thank the ICU ward of the Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital for helping them all feel supported and for keeping Earl comfortable in his final moments.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Louisa Christian Church, 104 Elm Avenue, Louisa Virginia, 23093.
