Donald (Donnie) LeRoy Sibole

June 17, 1948 - February 20, 2024

Donald L. Sibole, age 75, of Lyndhurst, VA, passed away on February 20, 2024.

Donald was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia, and became a true son of Virginia. His loving parents James and Thelma Sibole raised him in Fairfax, Virginia, with his 3 siblings Joyce Brooks, John Sibole, and Susan Stallard. Donald was always interested in automotive, whether racing his Barracuda, helping friends fix their cars, and working in the automotive industry beginning as a teenager to owning his own automotive repair business for 27 years. Donald was the grandson of inventor Percy Sibole and Mary Sibole (Graff), heir to the Graff automobile company, which explains the long lineage of his sense of humor, adventure, innovation, technical & business acumen.

Donald was a Boy Scout and loved to fish, hunt, golf, and spend time with family. These are just some of the key attributes that he enjoyed throughout his entire life and taught others to embrace. He also had a passion and talent for photography.

Donald served his country during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the Airforce, receiving 3 medals for his service as a Munitions & Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist. He trained with the Korean Rock Army in hand-to-hand combat and martial arts, earning his black belt. He then trained the United States Special Forces in hand-to-hand combat and self-defense.

Donald met and married his wife of 53 years, Monica, in England while stationed there before returning to Virginia.

Anyone who met Donald knew of his infectious personality and ability to relate to just about anyone. His kind nature and sense of humor were admired by all. Having a tenacious entrepreneurial appetite served him well through the years, as he owned and operated Team Tire, Sibole Properties, Club Caribe, and Abatis Security.

Donald is survived by his wife Monica Sibole, sons Duane Sibole (Lauren Sibole) and Darren Sibole, siblings John Sibole and Susan Stallard, nieces Carla Jones and Dana Stallard, grandniece Lexie Stallard and grandson Jasper Sibole.

A visitation memorial service, including Military Honors, will be held on Saturday March 2nd from 12-2PM at McDow Funeral Home - 1701 West Main Street, Waynesboro, Virginia, 22980.

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests a donation be made in his honor to ALS Association. https://www.als.org
