Donna Bell Carter age 76, passed away March 2, 2024 in Charlottesville Virginia. She was born on March 8, 1947 to her late parents Laura Mills Carter and Benny Lee Carter. She is survived by her sons Robert Carter and Matthew White, Grandchildren: Joseph Carter, Caleb Carter, Syleena White, Jazmine White, Derrick White, Marques White and Jayden White, Great-grandchildren: Ariah Carter, Extended grandchildren: Terrill Rose,Trina Hunter, Toni Clark, Shante Coleman. Deceased Siblings: Jimmy Carter, Robert Wayne Carter, Clarence Carter, Mary Alice Washington and Geneva Lewis. Living Siblings: Margie Lewis, Brenda Banks, Sheila Rose and Lucinda Carter (sister-in-law). Extended daughters/sons: Connie Carter, Carolyn Carter, Mary Carter, Spencer Carter, Debra Clark, Charles Carter, Sarah White (daughter-in-law). And a host of other nieces, nephews and friends that she loved very much.

We gather to honor the life of a remarkable woman, a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and a cherished friend. As we reflect on the life of Donna, we are reminded of the profound impact she had on each of us and the world around her.

Donna was a beacon of warmth and kindness. Her gentle smile and compassionate heart touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.

As a mother and grandmother she exemplified unwavering love and dedication. Her family was the center of her universe, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing, guiding, and supporting them every step of the way. Her legacy of love will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren and generations to come.

Beyond her role as a mother, Donna was a pillar of strength and resilience. In the face of adversity, she remained steadfast, never losing sight of hope and faith. Her courage in the toughest of times inspired all who knew her, teaching us the importance of perseverance and grace.

She cherished the simple moments, finding joy in the simple beauty of life, the warmth of friendship and the love of family. Her laughter was contagious, and her spirit illuminated even the darkest days.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home. Rev. Frank Lewis will officate.
