Dwayne "Whistle" Willis Brown

Dwayne Willis “Whistle” Brown, 64, of Campbell Road, Orange died at his residence on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Whistle was born on March 11, 1960, in Charlottesville and was the son of the late Oliver Neil Brown and Jean McDaniel Brown. Whistle was also predeceased by a brother Brent Brown. Whistle was a short-order cook at Jean’s Café and a speedy tire changer at Orange Tire. 

Whistle is survived by his wife Anita Faye Brown of Orange; a daughter Angela Nicole Brown of Waynesboro; three sons Dwayne Allen Brown Sr of Culpeper, Devin Wyatt Horner and wife Rebecca of Madison NC, and Kyle Nathaniel Horner of Fredericksburg; a brother Oliver Neil Brown and wife Cindy of Orange; two sisters Debbie Taylor and husband Curtis of Gordonsville, and Sharon Swan of Gordonsville; eleven grandchildren Dwayne Allen Brown Jr., Rileigh Renee Brown, Brian Michael Foster, Makayla Nicole Brown, Ashlynn Gayle Brown, Jayce Wayne Nesselrodt, William Zane Gardner, Susan Elizabeth Sullivan, Arabella Rosaleigh Sullivan, Nathaniel, and Canyia; and one great-grandchild Dvid Wayne Lopez Brown; and three special friends Kimberly Riley, Bianca Jackson, and LEAH-MYAH Jackson Brown.

A memorial funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange with inurnment to follow at the Graham Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Preddy Funeral Home, 250 West Main Street, Orange, VA. 22960.
