Eleanor Mae (Booty) Fincham Burke, 71 of Brightwood, Va., passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the home of her daughter, Pam, in Palmyra. She was born on December 4, 1951 to the late Clarence O. Deal and Beatrice Golden Fincham. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Juanita Cubbage and Linda Pearl Jenkins.

She was a bus driver for Madison County for many years. Eleanor was eager to drive anything with wheels on it. Christmas was her happy time, and many will remember her cookies. She babysat numerous kids over the years. Eleanor was an animal lover and a person who always stated her opinion. She loved socializing with all her dear friends and the kids she loved over the years, including kids that rode her bus and those she babysat for.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald H. Burke of Brightwood; daughters, Eleanor Lynn Burke Frye and husband Darryl and Pamela Kaye Burke and Jason Henry; nieces and nephew; and her fur family, Zeva, Abby, and special protector grand dog, Van.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Madison Animal Shelter, 4590 Shelby Road, Madison, Va. 22727.

A celebration of life will be private.
