Elizabeth Gay Gordon Banda

Elizabeth Gay Gordon Banda, known affectionately as Beth, passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 63 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Born on March 6, 1961, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Beth was a vibrant presence known for her crafty nature, humorous spirit, and the ability to be the center of attention in any gathering. She never met a stranger, making lasting connections with everyone she encountered.

Beth is survived by her mother, Sandra Gordon of New Canton, Virginia; her devoted husband, Spencer Banda of Waynesboro, VA; her daughter, Christie Piersol of Parkersburg, WV; and her son, Jon Gordon (Teresa) of Crimora, Virginia. She also leaves behind her sisters, Cyndi Garcia of Sterling, Virginia, and Lora Cox (Jeremiah) of Mineral Wells, West Virginia; step-siblings, Tonya Groh (Don) and Kenneth Pryor, both of Parkersburg, West Virginia. Beth's joyous legacy continues through her grandchildren, Willow Piersol, Isaiah Gordon, Kaleb Gordon and Elijah Gordon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews including Michelle, Michael, Alicia, Chauntay, Ashlee, Madison, Kasey, David, and Coty.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Dwight Gordon of Parkersburg, West Virginia.

The McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Virginia is assisting the family during this difficult time. 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date by the family.  

Beth's life has left an indelible mark on all who knew her and she will be profoundly missed.
