Elsie Diane Fallica

October 4, 1927 - October 27, 2023

Elsie Diane Fallica, 96, of Charlottesville, Va., formerly of Ruckersville, went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2023 at Our Lady of Peace Retirement Community.

Born on October 4, 1927 in Steubenville, Ohio to Frank and Laura Luciani, Elsie was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ben; her brothers Jerry, Johnny, Alfred, and Aldo; and her sisters, Olga and Rita.

Elsie is survived by her youngest brother Bob Luciani (Marlene); her six children, Richard, Diane, Bill (Alison), Patty (David), Joe (Vada), and Steve; her 14 grandchildren; and her 16 great-grandchildren.

Elsie met her loving husband of 63 years, Master Sergeant Benjamin Joseph Fallica, at a local Marine Corps dance in 1950. While Ben was away serving in the United States Marine Corps, Elsie began raising their family in Hayattsville, Md. Upon Ben's retirement, the family moved to Ruckersville, Va. to enjoy the slower pace of country living. Elsie cherished her time raising their family, traveling the world with Ben, being with friends, and serving at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church. Ben and Elsie will forever be remembered for their presence on the dance floor, swinging to their favorites: Glenn Miller Band, Tommy Dorsey, and Tony Bennett.

Before everything else, Elsie was a Catholic, living out her faith through her deeds and dedication to serving others. Through her selfless actions and bright smile, the light of Jesus was shone to all those around her. No matter what came of the day, it always began with the rosary and Mass on EWTN, exemplifying her piety and humble servitude even in her aging years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00 am. The service will be held at Church of the Incarnation, 1465 Incarnation Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am in the chapel.
