Ernest Lee Taylor

Ernest “Brownie” Lee Taylor, Jr., 79 of Barboursville, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at his residence. He was born on December 8, 1944 to the late Ernest Lee Taylor and Della Lamb Taylor. He was also predeceased by his sister Mary Frances Hyler.

Brownie was a long-time Plant Manager at Cooper Industries/Crouse Hinds. He was a devoted UVA and Nationals fan. He loved his family and especially all of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Haney Taylor; son Tim Taylor (Tonya) of Madison; step-sons Robert Troy Eppard (Cheryl) of Kentucky and Travis Wayne Eppard (Susan) of Barboursville; sisters Joyce Taylor Estes of Madison and Tammy Taylor Linkous (Butch) of Greene; grandchildren Jordan, Dalton and Jackson Taylor, Brooklynne and Harper Eppard, and Andon and Megan Eppard.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday May 11, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville. The family will receive friends one hour prior, from 1-2 PM. Interment will follow at the Union Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
