Fain Lewallen Sandin
Fain Lewallen Sandin January 10, 2025 Fain Lewallen Sandin, 86 of Stanardsville, Va. passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025 at her home surrounded by her children. She was born on April 22, 1938 to the late William Ernest Lewallen and Frances Russell Moser Lewallen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Martin Sandin. She is survived by her brother, William (Bill) Lewallen; her sons, Charles C. Wilson, III, Gary P. Wilson; her daughter, Kathryn (Kelly) Wilson Liner (Jim). She leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Chelsea R. Killam (Tait), Asheleigh E. S. Herring (Michael), Anna Carlini (Dom), Andrew Wilson (Mike); great-grandchildren, Haedyn Herring, Brielle Herring, and Paisley Herring.
Fain was born in Asheville, N. C. and raised in Greenville, S. C. She and her late husband settled in Stanardsville, Va. for the last 42 years where her home was named “Peke’s Pike” after her love for the Pekingese dog breed and plans to breed them. Fain loved her pets dearly and her family and friends deeply. In return, she was loved and had high regards as the “sweetest” person by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, from near and far. There was never a mean or hateful word uttered from her lips. Fain’s love, kindness, and service to others in need were her greatest gifts.
Fain and her late husband, Bruce, were best known for the years owning and operating “The Greene House Shops” in Ruckersville, Va. and being active members of the Stanardsville Baptist Church for most of their time spent in Stanardsville.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on March 1, 2025 at Stanardsville Baptist Church with Tom Zakielarz officiating.
