George Pollard
George Fitz Randolph Pollard III, “Trip”, passed away in his home on 9/27/24 surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Cranford, New Jersey, Trip was preceded in death by his parents, George Fitz Randolph Pollard, Jr. and Floy Kilmer Pollard, as well as his brother, Michael Pollard.
Trip is survived by his wife, Lorrie Pollard; his sister, Leslie May (Jim); his brother, David Pollard (Carol); his daughter Amanda Curns (Josh); his grandchildren, Tyler, Morgan, Kaleb, Julia; and many nieces and nephews.
Trip was a successful banker and businessman, which afforded him the opportunity to retire early in life. His passion for learning paved the way for him to become an accomplished guitarist, professional wood turner, and gourmet chef. His true joy came from spending time with his family and friends and vacationing in Ocracoke, North Carolina, where he made lifelong friends. He was a connoisseur of food and wine and loved cruising, reading, and watching movies. He will be greatly missed and always remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, hearty laugh, quick wit and endearing humor.
Join us for a celebration of his life at the parrish hall of Christ Episcopal Church in Gordonsville, VA, on October 6th, at 3:00 pm. A formal service will be held at a later date. If you’d like to make a contribution in his memory, you can donate to the Orange Free Clinic - P.O. Box 441, Orange, VA 22960, ocfc@orangecountyfreeclinic.org
