Harold E. Johnson

Harold E. Johnson, Jr., 72, of Dyke, Va, passed away on August 6, 2024 at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty Johnson; his wife, Oleta Johnson; his son, Travis Johnson; two grandkids; his sister, Carolyn Ann Green; and two best friends, James Shifflett and Mary Waldon.

Harold was a hard worker, loved his animals, loved spreading the word of God, loved his kids and family, was a kind man that would help anyone in need and loved going to Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Jackie McKinney-Motley (Ralph) and Wilma Maxwell (Pete); three brothers, Edward, Charles, and Tony Johnson; four step kids, Mary, Carl, Lisa, and Melissa Shortridge; his seven kids, Chris Johnson (Casey), Brenda Shortridge, Connie Johnson (Thomas), Donnie Johnson (Theresa), Ronnie Johnson (Kelly), George Johnson, and Kimberly Gentry; numerous grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two Godsons, Douglas (DJ) Shifflett and Harold (Duke) Shifflett.

The family extends a special thank you to everyone at Legacy Hospice for the care of Harold.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Ruckersville Cemetery, with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating.
