Harry Melvin Moran
Harry Melvin Moran, Jr., 66, a resident of Greenville, VA, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at the University of Virginia Hospital.
He was born August 23, 1957, a son of the late Harry Melvin Moran, Sr. and Telen (Brown) Moran.
After finishing high school, he became a carpenter. He worked in the private and business sectors for many years.
Melvin was an avid turkey and deer hunter, NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan, and a lover of Bluegrass music.
He enjoyed vacation time at the beach and in Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rachel Branch Moran; sister, Wanda Elliott; brothers-in-law, John Elliott, Sr. and Garry Monroe, Sr.; father-in-law and hunting buddy, Pete Warren; and nephews, Dakota Monroe, Bobby and Johnny Elliott.
Surviving are his loving wife of 29 years, Alice Fay Moran; daughter, Jennifer Rose Elliott; sister, Betty Monroe; one grandchild, Wrenlee Paige Brookman; one nephew and numerous nieces; many special friends; and his faithful dog “Holly Grace”.
The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at McDow Funeral Home. It is requested to please attend in casual dress.
