Herbert Hoover Aylor

Herbert Hoover Aylor, 89 of Reva, Va., passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at UVA Hospital. He was born on February 21, 1935 to the late James Milton Aylor and Lillian Yowell Aylor. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Omar Aylor; a sister, Barbara Aylor Cave.

Herbert retired as a sheet metal worker.  He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rosie Lee Richard Aylor; daughter, Ellen Aylor Strayer; sons, Herbert Milton Aylor and wife Betty, Steven Michael Aylor, Paul Keith Aylor and wife Diane; sisters, Vernell Harris and Susie Watson; grandchildren, Brandon Strayer, Brian Aylor, Michael Aylor; and a close friend, Hugh Coates.



A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Pastor Keith Wagner officiating. Interment will be private in Aylor Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
