Hilda Lee Blankenbaker Garnett

Hilda Lee Blankenbaker Garnett, 89 of Aroda, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Autumn Care of Madison. She was born on August 17, 1934, to the late Ernest Melvin “Cletus” Blankenbaker and Maude Lee Carter Blankenbaker of Aylor, VA. She was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Ziggler Garnett; grandson, Bryan Burer; brothers, Lawrence E. Blankenbaker and Rodman Blankenbaker; and sisters, Elizabeth Blankenbaker, Reva Blankenbaker Arrington, and Alice Blankenbaker Tinsley.

Hilda retired from the Bavarian Chef Restaurant after thirty-four years of service.

Hilda is survived by her daughters Arlene Terrell (Harry) of Charlottesville, Sue Garnett of Madison, Patsy Garnett (Chris) of Upperco, MD; son Howard Z. Garnett, Jr. of Madison; grandsons Devin Terrell (Carolyn) of Charlottesville, Derek Terrell (Audrey) of Charlottesville, James Lindamood (Taryn) of Glen Burnie, MD, Austin Garnett of Greene Co., and a granddaughter Kaitlyn Lamb of Greene Co.; two great grandsons, Cayde and Rowan Lindamood of Glen Burnie, MD; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church in Madison, officiated by Rev. Frank D. Lewis. Interment will be in Gordon-Beasley Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the church.
