Irene Margaret Walsh

Irene Margaret Walsh, 95, of Charlottesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

Born on December 10, 1929, in New York, Irene was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Juhas) Duffy.

Irene dedicated her career to public service, first working for the FBI and later serving as a government contractor in an administrative capacity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Duffy, her son Patrick, and her daughter Sharon.

Irene leaves behind her beloved grandsons, Michael Patrick and James Thomas, as well as her cherished great-grandson, Nicholas. She will also be dearly missed by her extended family and all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, 401 Alderman Rd., Charlottesville, VA 22903.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s honor to St. Jude’s Foundation
