James Wakefield Bower

James Wakefield Bower, 86 of Radiant, Va., passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in Charlottesville, Va. He was born on July 28, 1937 to the late Albert C. Bower and Susie Mae Drummond Bower; step mother, Jane Deans Bower.

Mr. Bower was a retired Major in the United States Marine Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Leptich Bower; daughters, Janis B. Dean and husband David of Manassas, Va. and Sharon B. Pentz and husband Bryan of Moorehead City, N.C.; son, James A. Bower and wife Sarah D. Thomas of Manassas, Va.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Mt. Carmel Church, Haywood, Va. with Pastor Keith Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Quantico National Cemetery on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:30 am.
