Janett Collier Shifflett

Janett Collier Shifflett, 93, of Earlysville, VA passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her home surrounded by her children. She was born on March 9, 1931 to the late George Wesley and Laura Morris Collier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Vernell, Dorothy Morris and Kathleen Hutchinson; her brother, Otis Collier; her husband, Ervine Clint Shifflett; son, Steve Shifflett; grandson, Scott Shifflett and great granddaughter, Vera McCloud.Janett is survived by her children Gail Landreth (Melvin), Frances Kelly, Mike Shifflett, Dennis Shifflett (Tina) and Nancy Barbour (Chris). Her daughter, Frances and granddaughter, Beth lived with and took great care of her. She had 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, all of whom she loved dearly.Janett was a faithful member of the Nortonsville Church of God where she taught Sunday School and worked in the Ladies Ministry for many years. She truly loved and served the Lord with all of her heart.If you knew her well, you know that she loved people and she loved to “go.” She was always ready for a trip or a day out. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.The family will receive friends on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at Nortonsville Church of God, 1505 Simmons Gap Rd. Dyke VA 22935. A funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor Greg Payne and Pastor David Allison officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janett’s honor to Hospice of the Piedmont or Nortonsville Church of God, Building Fund.
