Jimmie Dean

Jimmie Lee Dean of New Canton passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024. He was peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born January 4, 1964, in Farmville, VA, and was the son of the late Gilbert Lee Dean Jr. (Dizzy) and Maybell Christine Tyler.

He was a great husband, Father, and Friend who had found Jesus in his life. He was a Minutemen Motorcycle Club member and loved all his brothers and riding with them. He was a carpenter most of his life but had gone to truck driving school and started a new career as a CDL driver. He especially loved driving the semi-trucks.

He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, whom he dearly loved 

and was raised by Hattie Dean and Gilbert Dean, His uncles Clifton and Cohill Dean, and His brother Eddie Dean.

He is survived by his wife Linda Dean, Son's Jimmy Dean Jr of (Louisa), Brandon Elkins of New Canton, A daughter Amanda Dean of (Charlottesville), Step-son Thomas Elkins of (Buckingham), Benjamin Elkins (Kirsten) of Gordonsville, Step Daughter Shirley Brown of (Louisa). And 10 Grandchildren he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 Wednesday, September 25,2024 at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 Wednesday Evening at the Funeral Home. A private interment will be held at a later date.
