John Frederick Ross

John Frederick Ross, age 74, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024.

He was born on February 14, 1950 in Waynesboro, VA, a son of John D. Ross, Jr. and Betty H. Ross of Richmond. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, as well as brothers Brian A. Ross and Daniel B. Ross.

Survivors include his daughters, Eve R. Ghiold (Matthew) and Lauren R. Rush (Austin); ex-wife Vicki S. Ross, sisters, Ellen H. Ross of Waynesboro and Nancy R. Boyd (Randy)’ of Richmond, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Fred graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1968 and was First String All-District Basketball as well as Second String All-State. He went to Salem College on a basketball scholarship. He enjoyed a coin collection started by his grandfather and continued by his mother. He loved facebook and to play Canasta. 

Fred was a Pest Control Technician for Orkin and Dodson Pest Control. Then he worked for 27 years for Home Paramount in Richmond as a technician and a supervisor. 

There will be a graveside service at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro at 11:00 am Monday, December 16, 2024, officiated by his first cousin, Reverend Paul Glovier of Broadway. A family reception will be held after the service at Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church, 600 Highland Avenue, Waynesboro, VA.
