The family expresses its deepest gratitude to both Sentara and UVA Hospitals for the excellent care they provided Joyce over the years. To her care team, Dr. McGovern, Dr. Harris, Dr. Bergen, and countless nurses, thank you for the superior care and love you provided Joyce. You were and continue to be a blessing to us. Finally, the family wants to thank the staff at the Hospice of the Piedmont for the loving care they provided Joyce. She was truly at peace and loved by a great team of people full of compassion.
The family appreciates all the prayers and support we have received. We will cherish all the wonderful memories of Joyce as she will live on in our hearts, and souls forever. We will miss our beautiful matriarch.
As Joyce wished, the family will hold a private graveside service in Ruckersville Community Cemetery. Joyce loved animals of all shapes and sizes. She frequently cared for cats, dogs, horses, and even crows (yes, crows). In leu of flowers and in Joyce’s honor, please make any donations to the Greene County Cat House, or any animal rescue charity.
