Juanita King Brandt

Juanita King Brandt, age 96, of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Juanita was born November 8, 1926 in Charlottesville, Virginia to the late Elmer and Alma King. In addition to her parents Juanita was preceded in death by her husband John H. Brandt and her siblings Roger R. King and Joan King Lilly.

Juanita is survived by her sisters, Brenda King Melton and Ann King Wood (Bill); nieces and nephews, Blake King (Brenda), Richard Lilly, Hester Baird (Steve), Linda Lilly, Noah Wood, Matt Wood (Rachel), Mark Wood (Hope), Paige Smith, Amanda Finger (Chuck); many great-nephews and great-nieces that were very dear to her; caring cousins and close friends, Betty Herring and Barbara Scott.

Juanita was an avid reader, skillful seamstress and enjoyed many forms of needlework. She did secretarial work and bookkeeping for First Baptist Church Charlottesville and Blue Ridge Logging. She was a member of First Baptist Church Charlottesville and Fork Union Baptist Church were she served in many areas and was active in the WMU.

Juanita was loved by her family and friends. We were blessed to have her for 96 years. Her willingness to help others, her wit and humor will be missed.

In lieu of flowers send donations to Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation Center, 505 Rio Road West, Charlottesville, VA, 22901 where Juanita was cared for by an attentive staff.

Services have been planned for Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Fork Union Baptist Church with a visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service and reception at 2:30 p.m.
