Judy Marie Lendermon

Judy Marie Lendermon was born August 22nd, 1940 in Bluffton, Indiana of Helen Faulk Tustison and Lyle Tustison. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother Larry Tustison.

Judy passed peacefully with her family on Monday, August 19th at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville, Virginia. Judy is survived by her husband, William Charles Lendermon (of 62 years), son Charles Robert Lendermon (Susan), grandsons Evan Marshall Lendermon (Tiffany) and Collin Robert Lendermon (Taylor), sister-in-law Betty Lendermon Sammis, and a number of close nieces and nephews.

She received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Indiana University. After traveling 20 years as a loyal army wife, she had a dedicated nursing career, particularly in her favorite position at the Arlington Hospital nursery. 

Judy was a warm and devoted wife and mother who spent a great deal of time with her beloved grandsons through baking cookies, playing games, and supporting their various athletic and academic endeavors.

She had a powerful but quiet faith and was active in several churches, including Fishersville United Methodist, Main Street United Methodist in Waynesboro and St. Matthews United Methodist in Annandale. She was also a dedicated volunteer, most notably with the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Ministry.

Judy enjoyed cooking, quilting, and visiting with family and friends, as well as watching the sun set over the Allegheny mountains from her cozy sunroom.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm Thursday evening, August 22, 2024 at McDow Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, August 23, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Peter Choi and Rev. Dr. Gene Williams.
